Social Work Alumni CE Training

Date: March 4, 2025

Time: 7:30-8:30pm (Approved for 1 CE for social workers licensed in Michigan)

Location: Zoom (Link will be provided by SWK department before event)

Title: Introduction to Perinatal Mental Health  

Description:  This training discusses the field of perinatal and postpartum mental health (PMH).  This is considered a specialized field.  Definitions will be explained.  Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about perinatal and postpartum issues for women.  Resources and specific skills will be addressed, including best practices.  If you’re working with a pregnant or postpartum woman, or think you may be in the future, you’ll want to attend.  If you’re a mom or know a mom, you may want to attend, also!

Training Objectives:

  1. Participants will expand their knowledge about working with pregnant and postpartum (PPT) women who struggle. 
  2. Participants will be provided with resources
  3. Participants will learn about at least one specific EBT technique.

These trainings are only open to our BSW and MSW graduates and current Social Work students.  These trainings will be free or low cost and will be held via zoom to accommodate many geographic locations.  These trainings will be approved for CE credit by the Michigan NASW.  If you practice outside of Michigan, you may need to get additional approval from your local approving body.
